As much as I tell myself I am going to try and post at least every couple of days...life takes over and things happen and then by the time I actually sit to write...it's like now and has been a month or so. I REALLY, REALLY want to try to do better.
Goodness, this blog for so long was my source of strength going through my infertility journey. I have met so many incredible women and many of which I am still very good friends with and consider some of my best friends. They were there through the tears, the pain, the struggle, the happiness and finally the birth of our miracle.
Yesterday was October 23rd. That was the day in 2009 where we completed our 5th in vitro process. We took our two frozen precious embryos and placed them inside my womb. Now, that final embryo is a perfect, full of life, joy of my heart 4 year old! Sometimes I just sit back and cry tears of joy and happiness that God was faithful and provided.
So, my computer crashed last week and I lost everything on it. Luckily, on our main family computer I have most things on it. So once I get things all back in order...I am seriously going to try to at least post once a week. Let's start on that. Ha! Hugs to you all!!!

The Dreaded P Words...PARENTS & PLAYING TIME
I stumbled upon a really good article one day and I think it is absolutely a fact more times than not in coaching. I want to share a few points that I really enjoyed reading. I was googling articles on parents, playing time, bad mouthing the coach, etc. I found myself reading this going "Yes, exactly...preach it brother!" So here are some snippets from the article.
Most parents love that their child plays sports. They love that their kids learn many life lessons because of sports. But when you try to intervene and try to influence the coach to put your child in for more playing time or positions, what lessons are you really teaching them?
Of course you want what is best for your child. We all know that life is filled with its ups and downs. Anyone reading this will agree that there has been some type of setback in your life at one time or another. And for the most part, as adults, there is no mommy or daddy to swoop in and save the day when we face our own adversity. We must pick ourselves up and move forward. We learn to cope. We learn to struggle. We learn that things don't go our way. Part of it is figuring out that LIFE IS NOT FAIR!!! *I can speak from my own personal infertility struggle- try going through in-vitro 5 times* And as painful as those lessons are, they develop in us our character.
So, let's say your son or daughter plays a sport where foot speed is an advantage and a teammate who is much faster is getting more playing time. You have a few options. You can go speak to the coach and try to influence him and maybe even pressure him to play your child. Your child can work on his/her speed or try to develop other skills that will make him/her valuable to the team. Or, if that sport just isn't right, maybe they could use this opportunity to find a new activity that better suits them.
Because honestly, in 15 years...imagine that your child really wants to become an architect but has absolutely no talent in drawing. Well he/she could work on their drawing skills, sharpen other talents to compensate, or maybe give up on that job and really find something to better suit them. But it is very unlikely...or at least I hope it is, that you will storm into an architectural firm and demand they give your child a job that he/she is NOT qualified to do.
However, if you are constantly doing that for your child right now...why would they expect anything otherwise? Or better yet, bad mouth the firm, employees, etc on Facebook, e-mail, out in public, etc. See how well that works out for you...and your child.
Our job as parents is not to make sure they have absolutely no pain, no responsibility or disappointments. Quite the opposite. Our job is to prepare them the best we can for the time that they are on their own, without us trying to catch them when fall.
By trying to pressure the coach, the faculty, etc in to giving your child more playing time, you are weakening your children. You are making life miserable for the coach, and being unfair to other kids whose parents are playing by the rules. You are teaching your children that if things don't go well for them, it's not their fault but the fault of someone else. Think about how successful someone will be carrying around that attitude with them throughout their entire life.

Being a Coach's Wife
It has been asked before..."What is it like being a coach's wife?" Well, let me tell you a little bit about that!
Being a coach's wife is a job like no other. It is truly hard to explain unless you are one. It can be great at times and it can be terribly hard other times. Now, don't get me wrong. It has nothing to do with our husbands wins or losses or anything of that matter. It has to do with the fact that no matter a win or loss, YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE!
I remember playing basketball in high school. I loved it! I loved my coaches! When my coach said jump...I said "how high?" I never argued with him. I never told him we should be doing something this way or that way. I did as I was told. Today, not so much. Kids feel so much entitlement. They think they should be able to dictate what is done. And you know why they feel this way...the parents.
Coaches never get the praise, win or lose. If they win, it's because of the great players. If they lose, it's because of the coach. They seriously can't win. As their wife, it's hard to sit back and listen to the criticism and hateful comments. But that's what we do. There is a saying...prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child. Parents these days tend to do just the opposite. They must provide the path for their child...bad mouthing the coach on facebook, to friends, to co-workers, etc. As a parent, of course you want what is best for your children. But you cannot control absolutely EVERY aspect of their lives. While it may be good short term, long term this does nothing but hurt them.
Sitting in the stands listening to parents gripe about how your husband isn't doing it this way or how he should do it that way or why he isn't playing this particular player (and if you are not at every practice to see how your child performs...you have no room to gripe), etc is extremely difficult. But guess what...coaches wives...we signed up for it!
And you know what else...I WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY! I love watching my husband do the job he loves. I love watching him mentor kids to be the best they possibly can. I love the fact that he sacrifices his time and energy for his job that he loves so much. I love to watch our daughter go to the basketball games and cheer on "her girls" and her daddy. If he didn't love this job like he does, he would never spend that much time away from his own family that he loves more than anything else besides his Heavenly Father.
So, being a coaches wife you ask...it's a crazy life but we love it! GO GREEN!!!

NEW YEAR, NEW JOURNEY, NEW LIFE
Goodness Gracious has it not been forever since I posted? Everything is great over here in Creamerville. We now have a 3 1/2 year old. Yes, seriously!!!
Life is wonderful. Busy but wonderful. I had been going back and forth with blogging again and I honestly have missed it so much! I am still VERY good friends with some of you whom I met blogging and sharing our infertility journey with. This blog is/was my outlet to write down our life, the good, the bad and the ugly.
I can't wait to start blogging again. So, I have changed the title 3 times on this blog. It used to be "Barren in the Promised Land". When the Lord revealed His promise to us through our miracle IVF baby, the blog then became "Blessed in the Promised Land." Now, this is the "Life of a Coach's Wife."
Life as a Coach's wife is never an easy life. It is totally different than many lives. I have heard the saying that the 2 hardest jobs are Pastors and Coaches. I totally believe it. You can't please everyone. If you think you can...you will die trying because it will NOT happen!
So, this is my blog about our life. Being a Coach's Wife...the Good, the Bad...and the Ugly!
Can't wait to get started again!!! Hugs!!!!!

BAD BAD GIRL!!!
Not Ayla...me! I seriously can't believe how long it has been since I posted. I will say that this new blogger setup...I really don't think I like it. So after posting the first time with the new setup...I ventured away b/c I didn't want to try and mess with this new system. But after some much heartfelt encouragement and telling myself I think I can...here I am again!!!
Life is SOOOOO busy! That is totally an understatement! Ha! Honestly, it is beautifully busy! Ayla is almost 2 years old!!!!! She is a total ham. Her personality shines so brightly and she lights up any room that she enters. I was asked to describe her in one word. It took me a while to think of it because she honestly has so many beautiful and amazing qualities. However, the best one that I decided was her is VIBRANT!!!

She makes us laugh so much everyday!!!
And no one could forget...STINK FACE!!!
SO HAPPY ALL THE TIME
RIDING THE HORSIE
SAY CHEESE
OK, I have always been the good girl. Never drank, partied, smoked etc....so...I have kinda always wanted a tattoo but I would never do it. Well, I decided it was time. I am almost 30 and I wanted to do something to represent my daughter and the journey of infertility and what it took to get her here.
So, Ayla Faith and the Faith it took to know that one day God would bless us with a child!
Do not pour the water out of my pool!!!
Grocery shopping in style!!
Tired girl from shopping...but check out my cool sticker mom
We are definitely hitting the 2's stage. Discipline has become quite a normal part of our day. She is extremely strong willed and has quite the little temper. She wants to do things herself and when she can't do them...she gets FURIOUS!!! We have had some leg stomping, some throwing things as well as some slapping at mommy and daddy. She has decided she will put herself in timeout...and also her Elmo and other toys that misbehave. I am hoping with consistent discipline...we will be getting better sooner than later!
I have also been super busy because in January I signed up to be a Thirty-One Consultant! I just wanted something to make me feel "useful" and help provide some small type of income as a stay-at-home mom. I can honestly say that I am IN LOVE WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Everything they have to offer, their principle and what they are all about. They have purses, totes, bags...pretty much EVERYTHING that us girls love! It has been able to provide me with girl's night out and I am getting paid to go to parties, have parties and hang out with my friends. It is truly a blessing!!! I really believe it is the perfect "job" for a stay-at-home mom. Because for me, I choose when I work. If we are busy some weeks, months, etc...I don't have do schedule someone's party. I really can't express what a blessing this has been for us. So if any of you blog readers have any questions about it, just let me know. You can email me at sarahecreamer@hotmail.com or go to my website at www.mythirtyone.com/sarahcreamer
So with partying, being a mommy and a wife...I am one busy lady- but I am beautifully busy! MIss all you gals! I promise to keep up with my blog from now on. I am learning this new stuff so hang on! Happy Father's Day to the most amazing man, daddy, father, husband and best friend a girl could ask for!!!
