27 weeks

Well I have been waiting to post so I could put up my 27 week picture...but I haven't taken one yet. These past few days have been pretty rough. I woke up with major lower side back pain. It was so bad that I was crying, nauseated, etc. It eased up some and then turned into major back spasms. This happened on Saturday. I went to the ER Saturday afternoon to be checked out. I know women have back pain during pregnancy, but this was just weird. I was thinking maybe another UTI. I gave a urine sample and they found a trace of blood in my urine, but not enough for an antibiotic. After all of that was said and done, I was given Tylenol with Codeine and was sent home. Ayla was fine, not in distress, I had one contraction while I was there- probably just irritation, so that was great to know.

Sunday, I did good for most of the day and then about 5pm it hit again. Major back pain, spasms, nausea, hot flashes, etc. It was rough. It then quickly turned into groin spasms. The groin spasms were coming about every 15 seconds and making me feel like I had to pee and poop at the same time. Okay, I know...TMI- but still.

After some deliberation, I went back to the ER. My concern was that maybe it was a UTI that had gone to my kidneys and/or kidney stones. We got to the ER about 10:30pm that night. I got all checked in, hooked up to monitors and gave another sample. They also decided to do a straight cath to get more sterile urine- that was uncomfortable but manageable. We waited until about 2am, when the nurse came in and said that there was another small trace of blood in my urine and a small trace of bacteria but not enough for an antibiotic so they wanted to give me Tylenol with codeine again and send me home.

Here was the deal, I was fine with being sent home. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some type of infection they were missing and then it would end up hurting Ayla.

Monday, I went to MY doctor and visited with him for a while. He seems convinced that maybe it is my scar tissue from the perforated bowel infection, the surgeries adhesions etc- ripping, being stretched and tearing. He did check for pre-term labor signs. He said I shouldn't be having groin pain or spasms- that I am past that time frame so he was concerned that the spasms were contractions. He checked my cervix and it was perfect- hard as rock- closed tight! WONDERFUL!So...I either passed a kidney stone and didn't know it, or it is all scar tissue pain- which is terrible. I can take Tylenol-which is fine, but I just hate taking ANY type of medication- safe or not.

So, yesterday was alright but I did end up having some pain- nothing like it was so that is a plus. I am just praying it relieves itself on its own and I don't have that type of back pain, spasms or going spasms again. I can handle the pain...I just want to make sure it is not something wrong with me that will affect Ayla.

Here is a picture of mom and I Saturday afternoon when I got to the hospital. We were making our mad face b/c Stuart was gone playing basketball and didn't come with me. Naughty boy!Speaking of Ayla- we have our 4D ultrasound tomorrow (Thursday)! I CAN'T WAIT! Please pray that she is perfect, healthy and that we get some GREAT pictures. Also I have my glucose test tomorrow- this is the first one so let's pray that I pass it and don't have to do the 3 hr. test.

I will post pictures for you tomorrow and also including myself at 27 weeks!

so sorry to hear about all of your pain I hope you do not have any more. It sounds like it could be a kidney stone which are so painful but I hope if it was then it passed on its own.

Yeah for the 4-d ultrasound I hope your little girl cooperates better than ours and you pass the first glucose test first try!

Oh goodness! I hate you were in so much pain. We had almost the same experience. I too was thinking kidney stones or UTI and was just glad the baby was okay! So glad Ayla is okay and mommy is doing better!
