36 Weeks Old

Ayla, time is going so quickly and now you are 36 weeks old. It occured to me the other day that in a little over 3 months, you will be turning 1. That is absolutely insane. You are growing up so fast.

You are such a mess! You have quite the personality. You have really decided you are interested in mimicking us. You love to smack and make popping noises with your mouth. You are reaching for people now. For the first time the other day, mommy was holding you and when daddy came home from work, he came over and tried to take you from me. He held out his hands and you turned away! You have never done that before so we were in shock. You love to be held and you love for people to watch you play. We don't even have to be sitting with you but by golly you want someone watching you. As soon as you realize you have caught our eye, you smile really big and then start performing by either signing, squawking, jumping or screaming! You certainly love all the attention.

You have 2 little teeth now. You love to rub your tongue over your teeth. It fascinates you!

Daddy took these pictures for mommy while I was at AWANA last night. Now he can see how hard it is to get a good picture right now.

You are pulling up on things but get frustrated when you can't get down or when you can't go anywhere from that position. You crawl like an inchworm. I know once you really start crawling you will be out of control so I guess I shouldn't complain about you not crawling yet. I heard that it makes a difference when people have other kids or with kids that go to daycare, that they usually start crawling first. Since it's you and mommy all day, you have no one to watch. I do admit I crawl around sometimes to entice you but nothing works yet! Ha

You are now too long for your Chicco Cortina car seat. I am fixing to order you a new one. I can't believe you are already so long. You still fit the weight limit but you are such a long girl that you decided you were ready for a new seat. You will not like your mommy though because you will be facing the rear for a VERY long time. I will be called "crazy" mom. I know some mommies let you face forward at 1 year old, but I plan on making you stay facing the back until you are at least 2!

We are so blessed to have you. My heart aches for those still waiting to experience this. It is hard to understand the plans He has and why He chooses to take you down the paths He has chosen for you. Just know that He is there and He will hold you if you will let Him!
