Back from the HSG

Yeah, we are home from the HSG! Everything went great. I posted some pictures so I can tell the story in pics. On our way, mom took a picture of the sunrise- since we got up so early to drive to the airport. Don't mind the bugs on the windshield!
After we arrived at the airport- Love Field in Dallas, my brother picked us up and we went to the Galleria just to piddle around until lunch time. We forgot to take a picture there. Then we went to my favorite place to eat- Benihana's! It was sooo good. I was nervous to eat all the chicken and fried rice- you know- since I had a big day- but I ate it all anyway! My brother and his family live in Texas. He is finishing his PHD at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He will take his comprehensive finals in November and then all he has left is his dissertation paper- which can be no less than 150 pages :-) Have fun Matt!

Now, here I am at the clinic. This is my cross-eyed and scared face all in one. This was before they called me back. We sat there for about 15 minutes and then she called me back! Here we go...Once I got in the room, I stripped down- my favorite part- and then put the ole legs in the stirrups- no wait, that is my favorite part. Then Dr. Nackley was talking to me and telling me exacty what she was doing as she was doing it. She told me to give a little cough- and then she said "Okay, I was just distracting you while I numbed your cervix"- that was funny b/c I didn't feel a thing. Then she said, okay now I will add the dye- and here we go...IT DIDN'T HURT AT ALL!!!! I am not kidding...not even a tiny bit. She kept saying, "You might feel a little pressure now"- but I didn't. Just as it was starting to sting a little bit, she said, "Okay, we're done" and she pulled it all out and I was done. How awesome!!!! So, this is my right tube filling up with the dye. As you can see- nothing is even coming out of the left side at all. You can't even see the tube which is what we wanted. Now this is the picture with the dye spilling out into the cavity- and the right tube is still completely open! Yeah for my 1% chance of conceiving on my own!!! She see's nothing wrong with the left side- no hydrsalpinx, nothing at all- so we are good to go! She will fwd this do Dr. Kevin and he will contact the IVF coordinator- and we will get the ball rolling! Mom took this fun picture outside after we were done waiting on a cab to take us back to the airport. We didn't make Matt stay and wait. I don't know if you can see it, but there is the big egg and then on the right side- the tiny sperm swimming to the egg! Kinda funny :-)
A nice man at the airport took this picture for us after we kept trying to take pictures of ourselves by ourselves- we kept cutting each other's faces out or we didn't like the way we looked in one- so finally this many said "Do you want me to take that for you?" Sure we do!
Now I am holding up my pictures on the airplane. I am not sure why, but just to have something to do before we take off!
The last picture is now the sunset with more bugs! We left at sunrise and came home at sunset! What a long day! God answered all of our prayers. We prayed for a safe trip, a quick and painless test, great news from the test, and a safe trip on the way home! AMEN!!! God is good!

Knowing what you face is half the battle to getting the ball rolling. Glad to hear you are one step closer!

Hi Sarah, I just found your blog today and I've been reading through to catch up.

You've had a tough road and I'll be praying that the this time around you'll end up pregnant.

You are the first person I've come across that also had a hydrosalpinx. I had that tube removed back in Jan and just found out the other day from my 3rd HSG that my other tube is blocked again. We were told that IVF is going to be our only option and I'm not handling it the greatest.

It does help to read about your situation, and your great attitude is encouraging.

Didn't mean to write a book, but nice to "meet" you. Oh and I also went to Dr Nackley at CAR. She's a great dr. I have switched at a close friends reccomendation, but can't say anything bad about her.
