Today's appointment went great! We had our ultrasound this morning and according to it...Ayla is measuring at 8 lbs 15 oz right now! HOLY COW!!! Now, she did say this is an estimate and it could be off a pound either way...let's hoping its off and it is actually lower than that!!! I know that if the Lord wants me to deliver her earlier than Thursday, that He will intervene and take care of the situation. I am trusting Him that she won't be too big and that He has it all under control. We were prepared for a bigger baby. I was almost 9, my brother was almost 10, Stuart was 10, so...there big babies run in the family!
After discussing with our doctor- he truly feels it best to do a C-section. He said...if we were having her today- he would let me try naturally, but the fact that she is seeming to be a large baby, then he feels we don't need to try naturally because the odds of her getting stuck or me having trouble if she really is that big and gains even more before we deliver...he doesn't want her head crowning and then realizing we can't get our out naturally, etc.
I completely trust him and I know he is doing what he feels is best for Ayla. He knows our history, that we have been through hell and back to get this miracle and he doesn't want to risk anything going wrong. He wants to get her out!!!
So, we will go to the hospital for registration and blood work on Tuesday and then will be at the hospital bright and early Thursday morning at 6am to get ready for her arrival!
I am thrilled to be on the calendar! I can't believe we will be meeting the miracle God has given us in 6 days!!!
Specific prayer requests:
1. Please pray that Ayla isn't too big
2. Please pray that Ayla is healthy and there are no complications with her
3. Please pray there are no complications with the C-section and that there are no issues with my body and previous abdominal surgeries
I can't thank you enough for all your prayers and support throughout this journey! We are ALMOST there!!!

Congrats!! I'm extremely excited for you, and I'll definitely be praying for a safe arrival for your little one and a quick recovery for all!
Yay! One more week! I don't know if you follow Cheryl at "Cheryl Looking Forward", but she just posted recently on her C-Section...and what she wished she had known, had she known that she was going to end up having a C-Section (she was induced, but the C-Section was a surprise). You can view her post here: http://cheryllookingforward.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-is-my-c-section-preparation-post.html. God bless!
Praying so much for you and for Ayla. She will be the PERFECT little baby ever and you and Stuart will be over the MOON!
I'm so excited for you!! I will be praying for all of you. I hope that everything goes smoothly and that the next 6 days fly by!
I have chills reading this. I have followed your journey for a long, long time and I won't stop now. You were my inspiration when my daughter-in-law and son were going through IVF (and are now pregnant!). Praying you through!
Congratulations!!!! What an exciting time for you and your family. I will be praying for you. You and that precious child are in God's hands.
In Him,
Jackie
This is sooooo exciting !!! Almost makes me feel like I'm waiting on one of my own!! Lol.... Very best wishes to you and Coach C. You guys are great and are going to be awesome parents. Ayla's a lucky little girl. :)
Congrats on having a date! I know I just went through having a c-section exactly 4 weeks today and the one thing that someone told me that Im so glad they did was when you are able to get out of the bed-move around as much as possible because the next day will be soooo much better if you do!
So exciting!! I have enjoyed keeping up with you during your pregnancy and can't wait to see Ayla! Praying for you guys!
Yay!!! So excited for you! I know you will be a little nervous, *every* new mom is a little nervous, but God didn't bring you this far for nothing. He will take care of you! Will be praying everything goes smoothly
Woo-hoo!!! I CANNOT wait to see her sweet little face. Oh girl. So many prayers, so many tears, so many people have been following your journey to this miracle. If you have any questions about the C-section, email me. There's lots I wish I'd known in advance. Much love and prayers for all 3 of you!!!
Congratulations! I just stumbled upon your blog in the last few days, I'm being induced with my first child on Thursday as well! I look forward to hearing how everything went :)
congratulations sarah. i know that ayla will be a beautiful little girl and also she will be here on one amazing day. The day 61 years ago that a great math teacher was born. I am happy and excited for you to have her on my dad's birthday. That will be a day we will never forget. Enjoy her while she is little because when she gets 18 months old and starts learning words than you would wish she was a baby again. I know i do. Mine is a mess but you got to love them. I am praying that everything goes great.
Take Care and Congrats
