He spoke about how this book has been interpreted in many different ways by many different people. Some see this book as all about religion and Paul says that his main goal of this book is to show people it's not about religion- it's about having a relationship with God the Father. God never does anything by himself- it's by 3- God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
He went on to say that even though we may not understand things, why things happen the way they do and such...that grace sometimes makes no sense. My identity and what matters to me is in Jesus. It's not about what you think of me, what you don't think of me, or anything of that matter...it's only about Him. God knows me best and loves me most- more than anyone could.
Paul says that one of the problems today is that people confuse religious activity for their relationship with God....now this was my favorite and I will end my post with this today...Paul says "If your yoke is not easy, and your burden is not light- then you are picking up more crap and baggage that you don't need"!!!!

That is so cool that you were able to hear him speak and get a pic with him! The Shack was an amazing book...
I LOVE that book. I can't believe you go to meet him...oh the questions I would've asked him :D I constantly think about the shack and how he described being with Jesus...and I long for the day that I can be with Jesus and look at the stars!
I am so glad that you are moving on from all the hate! I know it would be so hard for me. I don't take criticism well and I know your heart has been hurt from all of this. Like you said...God knows you and knows your innermost self so that is all that matters! Sending you some love girl! Keep on keepin on ;D
Sarah- I saw him yesterday as well...he is definitely an amazing man with an even more amazing relationship with God. I am so happy he encouraged you!
Thanks for sharing! I am currently reading The Shack and love it!!
Well, I've been swamped and am behind on my blog reading. Apparently, I missed all the controversy over here! BUT, I am so happy to see a picture of your beautiful smile! And I love the new blog look. You are so loved, sweetie.
I haven't read the book yet, but I'm definitely adding it to my list! Thanks girlie!
I read "The Shack" shortly after my first loss (a year ago next month). The part that touched me the most was the imagery of the children in heaven with Jesus. The other thing that struck me about the book recently was not in what I remembered; but in what I forgot. I was discussing the book just last week with a friend, and totally forgot about "The Great Sadness"; yet that part had been so powerful when I was in my deepest, more storrowful days. I still mourn the loss of my babies, but God truly is able to replace "The Great Sadness" with joy and peace in His time. You're in my thoughts and prayers!
I will have to check that book out because I actually havent heard of it but it sounds amazing. What a great quote too you were able to come away with. Makes a lot of sense.
