5 Months

Time is flying by so fast! Ayla you are 5 months old today! It is so hard to believe you have been here for 5 months. It's even crazier to think that next month you will be 6 months old! You are such a joy! We love how you smile at us. You have the cutest little gummy grin. Okay, it's not so little. It is a big smile. I think you get that from your mommy because people would always say how I had the biggest smile!

You are such a nosey little booger. You love to be in the center of everything. If no one is paying attention to you...you let them know it. Girl, you still have the loudest scream. It is honestly amazing that you are SCREAMING at this age and not just fussy and crying. When you get mad...you let us have it! We are going to have to work on that, although right now at this age, there isn't much we can do but let you scream and just keep telling you "No ma'am!"- in a stern voice! You don't like to be left out so even when you can see me and you know I am close by...you REALLY like for me to be right there in your face with you. Today you did well at playing by yourself some so hopefully yesterday was just a rough day.

Mommy and Daddy love to cuddle with you. I love it when we are laying with you and you turn you head to look at us and grab our face. When you sit in mommy's lap while we are reading or watching tv, you love to look up at me and smile. You also love it when I kiss you between the eyes! That is our special spot!

You love to naked! That is when you like to perform the skills you have been working on. I guess when you have clothes on you think you can't roll over. You really love trying to roll over when you are naked! I guess the clothes keep you constricted! Ha Daddy loves to say "Go Crazy" and that is when you shake your head from side to side, kick your arms and legs and talk. It is soooo funny! We have got to get this on video really good so we can show everyone!

I watched the videos we took from the hospital and from right when you got home today. It made me cry. You were such a tiny little baby and now you are growing up so quickly right before my eyes. I am still in awe that God chose your daddy and I to be your parents. That He trusted us to take care of you. We have already been telling you the story of Jesus and how much He loves you. I have shown you the scrapbooks I made detailing the journey to you. You like to look at pictures with mommy. I hope you love taking pictures like mommy and your Grammie do.

You really and I mean REALLY like to make this funny face. You pooch out your lips and it is so cute! When we make the face at you, you then make it back at us. Here you are doing it when I was trying to take your picture! We have been working on eating rice cereal. You have actually done really well! We then introduced green beans. Let's just say you are not so crazy about those. I think you will like them more once you really get the hang of things. After we tried green beans for 3 days...we introduced sweet potatoes to you tonight. OH MY GOODNESS!!! You seemed to really enjoy the sweet potatoes. I would give you a spoonful and when I would take the spoon away...you already had your mouth open and going from side to side looking for another spoon. It was so funny. I wish daddy would have been here to see it. He will be able to see tomorrow!

Just think...we are now 25 days away from your first Christmas! You love Christmas music! Tonight when you started to get a little fussy, I turned on some Christmas music and sang to you. You just smiled and started talking. We watched the lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree together tonight. So we just sat in the recliner, rocked and sang Christmas music together. You seemed very content watching the singing, listening to mommy sing and sitting in my lap. I will remember these days when you are a big girl and you no longer want to sit in your mommy's lap. *tears*

We love you sweet girl!
